Small business hero of the month – Booth Contracting.

Andrew started Booth Contracting almost 3 years ago as a sole trader and has since grown the business rapidly – operating in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley and employing on average a new staff member each month!

The business started as mainly a domestic plumbing business but has grown to include commercial plumbing, irrigation, hot water, roofing and guttering and bathroom and kitchen renovations.

A piece of the digital pie.

When they first began, Booth Contracting weren’t doing any digital marketing. After looking at what their competitors were doing online they decided they wanted a piece of the pie. To achieve this, Andrew combined Yellow Pages Online, SEO and Google Ads – the results came quickly, with Booth gaining at a strong presence on page 1 of Google.

Today, Booth Contracting have surpassed their competitors and are now one of the fastest growing plumbing businesses in the region.

Keeping up with demand.

2018 has been a big year for Booth Contracting, with a number of large mining contracts dramatically boosting the business. The challenge has been finding staff to keep up with this growth. However this isn’t stopping the team at Booth from looking at 2019 as an opportunity to expand their business services even further.

Going social in 2019.

In the new year, Andrew will focus on ways social media advertising can work for the business, labeling the platform as the “best form of brand marketing at the moment”. The plan is to be more active on their Facebook page, connect with existing customers and encourage reviews through social.

Andrew will also continue to monitor Booth Contracting’s current advertising closely, ensuring they learn from trends and continue to delivers results. And with the company expanding so rapidly, recruitment, and fleshing out all the roles needed to support the business, will also play a priority.
